29 Days Until Employee Learning Week

We celebrate so many life events and milestones. I love to celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Easter and any holiday that includes food and family. With several holidays just around the corner, I am planning my black Friday strategy and have made my travel plans. Memories that I hold close to my heart connect to a celebrations. To my dismay, marketers have highjacked our calendars with new dates that are gear to shopping not celebration. What we celebrate can reveal want we value.

The American Society for Training and Development has set aside the first week of December as Employee Learning Week a celebration of workforce learning. Employee Week Learning is the opportunity to celebrate what we have learned or will be learning in the future. These activities in one way or connect with learning and personal development.

This is celebration I can get behind and promote 100%. This is a great way to grow awareness around learning and the learners in the workforce. It is my honor to be ASTD’s most passionate advocate for Employee Learning Week. I want to help, other learning and development professionals in promoting ELW where they work or deliver training.

This week, you will get ideas and resources to create an engaging ELW event.
Collaborate with a local professional organization to host a lunch and learn for your team. Then take the time to recognize their contribution to the learning profession.
